About the challenge
Hack Atlantic is Atlantic Canada's largest student-run hackathon. It's 24 hours of building, learning and meeting people at UNB Fredericton on September 26–27, 2026. It's an official MLH event.
This weekend, hackers from across the east coast come together to bring that idea you've been putting off to life. Grab a team of up to four, pick up new tools, and turn a scrappy idea into a working version by Sunday.
Whether you're writing your first "Hello World" or building the next big startup, there's a spot for you. Over the weekend you'll get:
- Mentors from industry and the UNB community to help when you're stuck
- Connections with sponsors, judges and other builders from across the region
- Meals, snacks, swag and prizes, all completely free
How it works
- Check in and join us for the opening ceremony.
- Form a team of 1–4 people, or find one at the event.
- Build anything you're curious about in the hardware or software track, or take on a sponsor challenge.
- Submit your project before the deadline, even if it isn't finished.
- Demo it to the judges and celebrate at the closing ceremony.
Hack Atlantic is open to high school and university students. Every project must be started from scratch during the event.
Student-built. Atlantic-inspired.
